Monster

Monster

A monster makes you feel fear,
It may ‘cause you drop a tear.

Often, that is its exact goal,
To make you restless in your soul.

Walk up to it and lift the mask,
You might have to simply ask.

“Why are you trying to scare me?”
The monster may look inside and see.

How unfairly it has treated you,
It’ll turn, walk away – feeling blue.

  1. A monster makes you restless in your soul. I love the imagery that this conjures up. The monsters of our adult life are often like the monster of our childhood–in our minds most of the time.

  2. I suppose that it is all in how you look at life, Stephanie. Some forces are real and have a fundamental effects. Lynn
